Looking for training for your team?
Talking with Vicky can also offer training sessions to preschool settings. These sessions will take place in your setting during the day or on an evening. The training session takes approximately 2 hours and all staff can attend the same session. The training is a mixture of theory and practical tasks to help all who attend to:

Advice leaflets and posters are then provided for the setting and a time for questions given throughout. Each member who attends will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
- Have a greater understanding of speech and language development, what can go wrong and ideas on where to get support from.
- Have practical strategies that they can start to implement immediately that will help improve children’s speech and language skills in the setting.
- Be more confident when working with a child who has been diagnosed with a speech or language delay/disorder.

- Speech and language delays/disorders in the preschool setting.
- How children learn to talk.
- Diagnosing which part of talking has broken down.
- General advice on what to do.
- Glimpse into assessment and therapy tools.
- Summary and support available.

What does it cost?
A group training session costs £300 for up to 10 attendees. If you wish further staff to attend then it is 10 pounds per additional candidate. I am happy for 2 preschool settings to join together to keep the cost affordable to the settings.
For the best results it is suggested that the SENCo from the setting attends, as well as any other staff members who work with children, so that the learning and ideas discussed in the training can be implemented across the setting.
